What is Metalstorm Scout?

Metalstorm Scout is an unofficial fan-made browser extension and web dashboard for the mobile game Metalstorm. It helps players track their in-game statistics, including match results, trophy progression, aircraft performance, and more. Metalstorm Scout is not affiliated with or endorsed by the developers of Metalstorm.

What Data We Collect

The Metalstorm Scout extension reads publicly available game data from the Metalstorm web client at playmetalstorm.com. Specifically, we collect:

• Game statistics: match results (wins, losses), scores, MVP counts, trophies
• Aircraft data: which aircraft you use, their performance stats
• Player profile: in-game username, player level, guild affiliation
• Shop data: daily reward availability status

We do not collect:

• Personal information (name, email, phone, address)
• Location data
• Browsing history or activity outside of playmetalstorm.com
• Financial or payment information
• Cookies or tracking identifiers from other websites

How We Collect Data

The extension works by reading API responses that the Metalstorm game client already loads when you play the game at playmetalstorm.com. In some cases, the extension may initiate a background request to the game's stats endpoint to keep your data up to date (this only occurs when you visit the in-game shop page). The extension does not inject any code into the game or modify game behavior in any way. Data is only collected while you are actively playing Metalstorm in your browser.

How We Use Your Data

Collected data is used exclusively to:

• Display your game statistics on the Scout dashboard
• Track trophy progression over time
• Analyze aircraft performance and match history
• Generate your Pilot Passport (shareable profile)

Where Data is Stored

Game data is transmitted to and stored on Metalstorm Scout servers. The extension also stores a small amount of data locally in your browser (using Chrome Storage API) for displaying status information in the extension popup. No data is stored in cookies.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties. Your game statistics may be visible to other users only if you choose to share your Pilot Passport link. No analytics, advertising, or tracking services are integrated into the extension.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data by visiting the Scout dashboard
• Delete your data by contacting us at the email address below
• Stop collection at any time by disabling or uninstalling the extension

Permissions Used

The extension requests the following browser permissions:

• storage: To save extension status data locally (snapshot count, sync time)
• host permission for playmetalstorm.com: To read game data from the Metalstorm web client
• host permission for metalstormscout.com: To send collected game data to the Scout dashboard backend

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
